BIOGRAPHY
Miss Yvonne has been dancing since 1981. This is her 16th year as owner/director of Miss Yvonne’s Dancers Unlimited. As a child she took lessons for 10 years from “Kathy Niemeyer’s School of Dance”. She was consistently given lead roles, solo performances and was a member of her dance company “Dancettes.” Dancettes performed locally at special events such as Mayfest. She was offered a position to be a co- choreographer and head teacher while still in high school. After high school, she auditioned for several studios for employment and was offered several opportunities. She choose to work for Tirita Mock of “Tirita’s Dance studio and Performing Arts “ and Cathey Armstrong of ”Cathey’s Dance Studio.” To this day, she considers that employment one of her most valuable dance studio experiences. Miss Yvonne has attended numerous workshops and has been instructed by top professionals. She has been certified by the Dupree Dance Expo. She has assisted numerous teachers in performances for school events and also organized talents shows and the annual “ Fine Arts “ night while a teacher at Saint Catherine school. Miss Yvonne has a Bachelors of Science Degree in Early Childhood Education and was a teacher for 5 years before having children. Miss Yvonne’s students have gone on to perform in the Tulsa Ballet “Nutcracker”, Super bowl halftime, MTV Video Music Awards, modeling, local and international commercials, pom squad, color guard, cheerleading, and drill team. Miss Yvonne stays current by workshops, instructional videos, instructional literature, and attending performances. Miss Yvonne strives for her dancers to feel at home at the studio and wants everyone to know that you do not have to be perfect to love to dance.
